At the far end of this spectrum is the 1996 Dom Perignon that can be had for about $99 in the right areas. They are now harder to find since the 1998 is out. You note that you wanted a Vintage Champagne. If not, I really like Delamotte NV (around $40) and a Pierre Moncuit Delos Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blanc Champagne around $35. There are Champagne experts on this board, of which I am NOT one of so you may want to see more responses. Certainly the other ones identified so far are pretty good as well.
