First of all, congratulations. Also, welcome to the wine board. I'm sure you know that combining a red and white wine is not how a rose wine is produced. In fact, I'm not even sure if you combined a red wine and a white wine if the resulting blend would even resemble a rose in color. The only time I ever tried something similar was while making sangria one time, long ago, when I ran out of cheap Spanish red wine and needed another bottle of wine in the big punch bowl of fruit. So, I took the only other wine on hand, a nondescript white, and tossed it in. The color didn't change at all -- it still looked ruby red.

The only related thing that I know of that is done is combining Pinot and Chard to produce a sparking wine. To my knowledge, though, the rose hue is produced by keeping it in contact with the red grape skins.

Perhaps others will have ideas for you. Good luck and, again, congratulations.
