Hi Canavin, and welcome to the Wine Board. Any Bordeaux that you can find that costs $12 or less. Anything of higher quality would be a waste. Don't mean you can't get decent Bordeaux in the recommended price range. Wassail (to the best of my knowledge) was tradionally made with "Claret." Claret is a light Bordeaux.
