I think what he/she's looking for is not a place to gain knowledge about wine, but some sort of credentials or certification to display wine knowledge in a job search. To my knowledge, many folks in the industry use and respect the WSET coursework and certification. It costs a bit, but you may be able to gain that back quickly in salary depending upon how it improves the type of position you can get in the industry. Also, you may be able to test out of the beginner level courses and begin at the intermediate level, depending upon your prior knowledge.
