Besides beginner books, like "Fear of Wine" or "Wine for Dummies," you may want to check your local university/community college to see if they offer a class. The best way to learn about wine is to drinks lots of different wines. A good class will give you an opportunity to do that, as well as learn about the wines those wines. An intro to class wine should cover what type of glass to use, too.
