Hi!

I live in Ukiah, just north of the famous "valleys" of Northern California. I don't like to shell out the dollars to wine taste so my opinion might be a little bit biased. Alexander Valley is one of my favorites to visit every couple of months. Excellent reds over the last couple of years. Up north a little bit and on the west side of Hwy. 101, Dry Creek Valley has some nice surprises and, if you look, some nice small wineries with very pleasent staff. Finally, one of my favorites is the Anderson Valley along Hwy. 128 between Cloverdale and the coast. I enjoy Brutocao, Husch (yummy pinot), Handley, Navarro and the sparklers at Pacific Echo and Roederer.
I don't like the bussel and gamesmanship that goes on in the Napa Valley at the big boys.
Hope that helps!

Yoda
