As a wine novice the best advice I could give you is in most resturants just as for the house wine and I doubt that you will be disapointed. When you are in Florence, if the opportunity arises take a ride to the southeast to a little town called Singaluna and find the Loconda Del Amarosa an inn/hotel. They have a great wine bar and resturant,as well as a non-working vineyard that you can visit at your speed.
