In the 8th Arrondissement, Champs Elysee (Paris is segmented by these things called Arrondissements. Most tour books will explain this better than I even can. A picture will also do this).

I spelled it wrong. It is actually called the Madeleine Church, named for Mary Magdalene. The most famous restaurant in the area is Maxim's restaurant on the rue Royale and on the square of the Madeleine (the road basically circles this church) are Fauchon, Mallie and Hediard's (which is perhaps even more famous especially to the brits).
