Wine Storage

I'm sure you folks see this question virtually every day, but....

I currently keep my wine in a small basement area in my home. Winter temps 50-60F Summer temps approach 70 or so. As such, I haven't bought much wine requiring long term cellaring for fear it would ruin. I would like to expand my horizons and collect some wines for long term storage. Do you think I could get away with cellaring wines for several years under these conditions, or should I invest in a wine storage unit.
