Hi Toaster, and welcome to the Wine Board. Whether red or white, for your purposes a dessert wine is in order. Be advised that white dessert wines typically are twice as expensive as red ones. You might mention to girl person, that all dessert wines are sweet. I think the best value in a white dessert wine is Bonny Doon's, Muscat Vin de Glaciere. It runs around $17.00 for a 375 ml bottle. For a red, look for a Port. You can get a whole bottle starting at or below the price of the Bonny Doon.
