RVsan, Welcome and I am wondering if that the red wine you speak of came from Hungary and was called RED AUSBRUCH. The reason is that it is a very smooth red wine with no bite and would be perfect for a guy like you that has tasted and enjoyed fruity white wine. Its a sure thing since there is basic sweet flavor (like the rieslings you've had)which includes red berries( think mostly cherries) in this type of wine.
