Just like almost everything else in the food and beverage world, prepackaged items play second fiddle to those made from "scratch" with natural ingredients. This is every bit as true for wine coolers as it is for salad dressing. In this country supermarkets are filled to the brim with row after row things for lazy people from bottled salad dressing to bottled wine coolers. The freightening part of all this is that a lot of the stuff in these prepackaged things are actually bad for the lazy people who consume them.

Back in the middle ages (early 1960's) people who enjoyed fine wine, would sometimes entertain themeselves and their friends by mixing what we called wine coolers from scratch. Our favorite was mixing Sangria (home made of course) in a tall glass with ice and ginger ale.
