A young couple from South Africa was visiting some close friends of mine over the holidays. They were interested taking back some wine that could be "put down" for awhile and asked me what I thought. I've told you that my friends are not wine drinkers, and compared to them, they think I know a lot. Uh, you can stop laughing any time, now. I really didn't know what to tell them and without access to you wine board buddies I was sunk. I told them to consult a couple of reputable merchants in the area, and foodie in Manhatten since they were heading there bfore going home. But time constraints prohibited a visit. Just for discussion's sake, what would you have recommended? I did guess at one thing, and am curious to know if I was right. I'll tell you if I was. Otherwise, you'll never know.....
