Welcome to the Wine Board Obscurus. The Woodbridge Merlot would not be my first choice of the Woodbridge selections. They do a much better job on their (red) zinfandel. A better merlot, at around the same price comes from Bogle. If you live around any wine stores with a significant selection of Italian Wines, look for those from the Collio Region. This is not a carte blanche endosement of Italian Merlot, any more than Bogle is an endorsement of all California Merlot.

In addition to the very nice white zins mentioned above, look for Buehler, Napa Valley, White Zinfandel at around $8.00. Wonderful.
