Yes there is sugar in wine and white usually but not always has more than red.

I am diabetic also and only drink red wine and never more than 2 glasses at night. Ever now and then I might get wild when I have company and have 3. But I check my sugar ever morning and for me it does not affect my readings. You may want to run a test and have a glass of wine than check your fasting levels the next morning. If you see no change try two glasses. ALSO TALK WITH YOUR DOCTOR. Mine knows and says keep an eye on it.
