Hi Greenhorn, and welcome to the Wine Board. For a white, would go with a 2000, repeat 2000 Pinot Grigio. Albola, Pinot Grigio, Friuli (DOC), Aquileia is a good one. For a red, which I would prefer by a mile with this rich dish, go with a Barbera d'Asti. Stay well below $20 per bottle, as the bigger, more expensive ones would be too much for the dish. Or, you could be a sport and bring one of each!
