Learning about aging is an aging process. There are really no shortcuts. Some wines you know by where they are from and who made them, tho even these can vary by vintage. The second method is personal experience. The third method is learning from others. In regard to the latter, you will notice that even seasoned geeks, will ask about a specific wine on this and other forums.
