I'm looking forward to trying these new (to me) wines. Thanks for your input. You mentioned library wines...Around the holiday season, between t-day and c-day, our nearby Oliver also releases library wines. Last year they had a 1999 merlot, (not estate grown), I thought was great. I don't know how or why they hold these but I'm glad they did, and waiting to see what's up for this year.
Is there a good book, or where can a novice find info about how to recognize a young wine that has holding potential? Is it in the taste of the tannins, or in the texture, or just wise ole experience? Thanks, and a great day to all. WP
