Hi, T! I was in your situation a few years ago, so I started with the white zin, then moved to chardonnay. I really like the Kendall Jackson chardonnay (I'm a pretty cheap/economical person). But, tasting the difference between the white zin & chardonnay helped me develop my taste buds, and, since, I've had the opportunity to explore more wines with a better sense of what I'm tasting. Moving into the reds is fun, but not as "easy" - from my own experience.
