They are not that far apart John. Thou they are from different grapes, Pinot Noir and Gamay, they are both medium bodied, have negligible tannin, and similar price. The Beaujolais Villages will show more fruit, and the Pinot a little more acid. The Pinot will go with a wide variety of foods because of its acidity, while the Beaujolais is mostly a hamburger wine. Why not get one of each?
