I believe the "most likely to impress and please" choice would be one or two bottle(s) of an actual Champagne (French). Beyond that it depends on whether or not you have already bought any other items for the baskets, so let us know. (With the Champagne you can add fancy chocolates, pears, quality nuts, hard cheese.) One very tried and true basket: Bottle of Chianti with pasta, sauce, garlic braid, bread sticks, virgin 1st press olive oil, etc. You could also do a Pinot Grigio with this as your white wine.
Also a Muller Thurgau basket with cans and jars of ingredients for gumbo, (with a receipe) or several Thai food items is very unique theme.
