IMHO, you don't need to spend anywhere near $25 to get some wonderful wines for quaffing.

I saw that you usually drink merlot and pinot noir, and while I'm not a big merlot fan, I've tried many pinot quaffers over the past year or so and also asked for recs from folks on this board. Go to the pinot thread, look back over the past several months, and you'll find a thread on "House Pinots."

Other quaffers around my house include A Mano Primitivo (around $10), d'Arenberg "The Stump Jump" ($10), Folie a Deux "Petit Folie Menage a Trois" Zin blend ($10), the aforementioned Cline (both zin and syrah), Guigal Cotes du Rhone ($11), and a ton of stuff from Spain: Vina Alarba Grenache ($6), Borseo Campo de Borja Grenache ($8), Abadia Retuerta Rivola Tempranillo blend ($10), Castano Monstrell Yecla ($9) -- I could go on and on. Like the above said, do a quick search, and you'll find many recs!

Happy searching!
