We like Spanish food and wine too, but don't restrict the wine to just Spanish food. As a matter of fact, we will resort to a Spanish wine when it is not obvious what to have or "ought" to have with a given food. Kielbasa is a good example of when we will almost always go for a peasant wine from Spain. We prefer Garnacha or Monastrell or blends of these with others, to Tempranillo, but have never been known to turn a good Rioja down. At Christmastime, we usually get an inexpensive Rioja to make our Sangria.
