Different strokes for different folks -- I find the Talbott to be the opposite of what I want in a wine. There is no wrong or right, just preferences.

The buttery flavors mainly come from malolactic fermentation and partially from oak. Some Sauvignon Blancs are Chardonnay wannabes, so you might find one of them to suit your palate.
