A while back I purchased a bottle of L'Ecole #41 2000 Merlot. It was extremly tart. I fugured maybe it was too young. Later, I purchased a Duck Pond 2000 Pinot Noir, it was even more sour. It was even more tart, like cranberry juice. I figured it might be too young, but not likely. Recently I opened a bottle of Columbia Winery 1989 Red Willow Cabernet Sauvignon, it too was very tart. I know this bottle is not too yound, it's perhaps too old!

What gives, were these wines made to taste this way? Other Red Willow Cabs I've had do not tast similar. Are these bad bottles?
