Enjoyed a bottle of their 1999 Fleur de Carneros, Pinot Noir at Joe's Boathouse in South Portland last Friday night. Matched it with Lobster Fettucini for moi, and Scallop Scampi with olives, mushrooms, et al on a lighter pasta for Mother. It did carry the Carneros appellation, and it was a great restaurant value at $25. It lists at $17.50 ($14 at Pops) retail.

This is an excellent wine, taking its place in between Villa Mt Eden and Logan, Sleepy Hallow Vineyard it both price point and quality. Gorgeous ruby color, with ripe cherries on the nose and up front. More fruit and nice complexity and smooth tannin across the place. Hardly a trace of oak. Very nice finish though hard to judge when is was washing down the lobster clawmeat in sherry creams sauce and pasta. Very nice wine and highly recommended as a pinot value.
