Justin Cellars single vineyard "isoceles" (how the hell do ya spell that?) is very good, but prices similar to cakebread.

However their regular cab is very good and is only around $24... it's pretty darn approachable, but a lot more intriguing than many cheaper ones.
If you want to go cheaper still I really like Casa Silva reserva Cab($10ish)
and Pascual Y Toso Cab ($9ish) if you can find them. Both South American.
Liberty School is really good, but lighter bodied than what you seem to be looking for.
