wine clubs

I've been getting wine delivered from "a taste of calif." club every month, and while I have started stocking a small stash, I haven't been impressed with any of them. One of my local retailers has suggested some tasty selections but I kind of like the sport of getting "surprise" bottles delivered, (if they were good!). Do you know of any reliable clubs a novice could join?
