Debra, welcome to the board. Hopefully your friend was born in 50 as it was a fairly good vintage for vintage ports but 51 wasn`t declared. The only other fortified wine you mite look for is Maderia.They are long-lived. Any wine , even the 1st growths from bordeaux would be chancy from rhe 50 vintage and VERY expensive from the 51 (51 Mouton Rothschild @ 2200.00). Sometimes those birthdays don`t jibe with good vintage years. Good Luck winoweenie
