Sorry I did not see your question until too late. For your next tasting: (as I am sure after doing one you will
want to do more!) Try some fruit and veggies that can also help you notice some of the flavors in the wines.
Figs, slices of pears, peaches, whole raspberries, blueberries, strawberries in fans. Some bell pepper strips (try
orange peppers with riesling sometime) and a selection of olives in small bowls. Put them on a tray with your cheeses & use the raspberries and blueberries on top as a decoration with some edible violets and mum's. Put a basket of assorted breads in thin slices next to it. Looks great and works very well with the wine tasting!
