Foodie,

I suspect these issues are popping up because of the change in browsers rather than operating systems. What are you using to see our web pages.... what software & version?

The change of colors (or non-changing colors)on locks (etc) could be related to color settings. The browser should be set to allow the page to use its colors (rather than any preset colors).

The lightbulb problem could be tied to the "cookie" settings in the browser's preferences. Cookies should be turned on, with no restrictions. You might try lifting any restrictions to see if this makes the difference. The settings for cookies are usually hidden under "advanced" or "security settings." You can't hurt your computer by changing these temporarily. Set them to the highest level of security that doesn't give you the problem.

By the way, it is helpful to refresh the page you're seeing between changes in settings. I always recommend holding down the SHIFT KEY of the computer keyboard at the same time as clicking on the RELOAD or REFRESH icon at the top of the browser. This forces the latest version of the page and overrides anything in memory. Try this when you are changing browser preferences -- to see what effect the change will have. I know this works with PC's. Can't promise if this works with MACs too.

As far as not being able to see a post until the next day goes -- well that sounds like another problem with the browser. Specifically, the pages you see are being "cached" or "saved in memory" either by your browser or by your network or Internet service provider (AOL does this). In the browser preferences, there is a setting which controls the amount of data that is cached. Also you can override all cached pages by changing the control how often a cached page is compared to the web server (in other words, how often your browser requests an "updated" page). The settings can be "every time the page is visited/viewed" or "once per session." It sounds like you are set up for the latter. Change this to "every time".

I don't know what browser your MAC uses but you should be able to find controls for all the above SOMEWHERE behind the scenes, i.e. in a drop down menu for user preferences, or settings or system options.
