Still desperate

I still cannot properly use the wine board on my Mac OS X. I believe the operating system--UNIX--might have something to do with the problem, but I have no idea how to fix it.

The yellow light bulbs do not go out after I have read a post; the lock at the side of each post never changes colors to identify if I have read it; cannot see a message I post until a day after I post it.

HELP!
