There's a lovely new shop in the nearby small town of Allenhurst, NJ. It's called the Wine Concierge and it carries a selection of wines that are not run of the mill. They also carry a beautiful selection of cheese. Posted next to each wine are the the owner's tasting notes as well as a suggested cheese pairing. Mike, the owner, telephoned me to tell me about his first tasting event, which takes place tomorrow. He said, "Of course I'll have to charge something." I told him that it is not unheard of to charge for tastings. I don't know what he plans to charge, and I was wondering what some of you would consider reasonable. I imagine he'll feature various cheeses as well as wines. If he's out of sight, I plan to tell him so!
