Not really Wine Country, but.......

I'm going to be in San Diego at the Del Coronado from 27 Feb to 4 Mar for a business conference. Unfortunately, I'll be without wheels. Anyplace I absolutely shouldn't miss (wine related, of course) while I'm there? Keep in mind, it has to be someplace within a reasonable cab ride. Also, I think someone I know may have a car there, and if I'm good at begging and groveling I may be able to talk him into taking a ride. He makes wine (homemade) from his own grapes south of LA, so something to do with wine may just sway him - as long as it's really worthwhile.
