Petite Sirah 56% - Zinfandel 41% - Mourvèdre 3%

Pitite Sirah, Zin and a splash of Mourvèdre? I had to give this odd combo a try. I was looking foward to a big wine loaded with fruit and earth, and that is what I got. awesome juice. I cranked this open monday night with my father(a SUPER wine nerd and my partner in crime)

The nose was loaded with dark fruit, black cherry and blackberry shining through with that beautiful vanilla aroma that can only happen with new American oak. The black cherry dominated the entry, in a ripe, mouth-filling kind of way(the 14.5% alc/vol kind of way). If I had tasted this blind, I would have thought this was mostly Zin. As the wine finished(a nice, long finish with tame tannins), the fruit faded a bit to give a nice hint of cinnamon and vanilla.

A wonderful, fruit foward wine that put me back only $13 at my local pusher. Once again, Bogle delivers a quality, affordably wine.

Zin drinkers need to give this one a try.
