As I have traveled around to the Oregon wineries in my area. I have knowticed that more and more of the wines are tasting oakier and oakier. And the worse part of it is, the people pouring are prouder and prouder with the percentage of oak/new oak the wine has. After about 5 wineries, your tongue is full of slivers and dead. Then you hit a place that does it right; you taste fruit; and your tongue comes alive again. There are just too many hacks going with the trends.
