I saw this sitting just inside the entrance of a local wine shop. It was less than $10.00 a bottle (about $7.50) and sounded interesting. A blend of Pinot Blanc (19%) and Pinot Gris (81%) says the label. Vintage 1996.

Wallace Brook Cellars (the back label says that Wallace Brook is the figment of someone's imgaination) made in Newberg, Oregon by Wallace Brook Cellars.

I should have known better just from the fact that is was on display right inside the store's entrance.

Had to fight real hard to find any hints of grape or any kind of fruit on the nose or on the palate. This, to me, was solid tree with a bit of crispness to indicate it at least has some acid in there somewhere. The stuff gave me a headache.

Has anyone else tried this? Tasted like cheap, oakey, California Chardonnay to me. Yuck.

I need some gin on the rocks to cover this stuff up!!
