Candia (NH) Vineyards, Good King Robert’s Red. Alcohol level: 13%. This one was somewhat fuller than Mystery Wine #1.

It gave a strange aroma on the nose. I asked True Love to give a sniff and she gave it a pass (thought it might be oaked, but it wasn’t). Let’s say it was black fruit on the nose and upfront. In the middle it was more complex than MW#1, but gave a slightly grainy mouth feel that I sometimes find in Hybrids. It finished nicely.

Matched it with lamb shank meat that had been cooked in the slow pot and had bones, fat, and sinew removed; and then returned to tomato sauce it had been cooked in. And spaghetti. The wine went very well with it.
