1999 Geyser Peak Rose of Cabernet, Alexander Valley, $14 retail.

I hate to report on a wine with only a 200 case production, but this wine was just released for sale, winery only, so still available.

This will make a great summer sipper. Fermented on skin for only 24 hours, then cold fermented in stainless steel and kept chilled until bottled. Pure fruit flavors, with raspberries predominating, soft on the palate, finishing clean and crisp. Delightful with sesame chicken tonight. I can see myself enjoying a charcoal grilled burger on the deck this summer with a glass of this wine.

Talking with Darryl Groom, he promises to make more cases of the wine this year.
