Hey, its summer boys and girls.

2006 Wild Rock Vin Gris, Pinot Noir Rose’, Central Otago ($12.99 SHWC). Alcohol level: 14%. Lots of fresh fruit including strawberries (of course) on the nose and tongue tip. It is crisp and dry with subtle, persistent and complex flavors in the middle. Its pinot noir flavors of strawberry jam take on a forestry tone, an impression of roses at the edge of the woods; and that does not mean oaky; and it finishes long and lovely. It is what we were looking for a summer rose’; and we have more.

We matched it with salmon, English muffins, and (English) minted peas. Just great.
