2001 Marc Deschamps, Les Porcheronnes, Pouilly Fume, Les Loges ($17.99 Chambers Street). Alcohol 13%. Peaches, lemons, and herbs on the nose and upfront. The underlining minerality gives depth and complexity across the palate. The finish is lovely and lingering. Glad we hung onto it for a couple of years after release and purchase. Matched just about perfectly with broiled sea scallops, corn on the cob, and salad in freshly made blue cheese dressing. A Friday night to remember.

It is still available around the country. If you are lucky enough to live in New York State, there is a retailer in Buffalo that has it for $3 less. Check wine-searcher.com
