I've often ranted a bit about rising alc levels and raved about Sonoma outfit Harvest Moon's approach, particularly with their Pinot, of picking earlier and producing a balanced, delicate, intense wine. I just got my '07 Pinot shipment from them, and I immediately glanced at the alc: 12.3%. I'm guessing there are few other Cali PN that come in at that level. For anyone who might say that's likely to taste underripe, just give it a try at some point.

On a related note, they also shipped a single-vineyard Dry Creek Cab. It's 12.8%.
