My nephew's wife is Jewish and they are raising their children in the Jewish faith. I sent Meredith a pop-up book about Hannukah but she is also getting Christmas presents from me and her other Christian relatives. We will be seeing them on Christmas Day so it will be a bit different celebrating that day in a Jewish home. It's too bad that Hannukah wraps up before Christmas this year so we will miss the Hannukah ceremony at their home. They took Meredith to a family-oriented Yom Kippur service (time of atonement). Afterwards her Christian grandmother asked her what she learned from the service and she said "Everybody sorry--everybody say they sorry" (so I guess she did grasp some of the meaning of the service.) They had to take her home early. The little children were allowed to go up front with the puppets and talk to them but when it was time to go back to their seats, Meredith didn't want to leave the stage!
