30th anniversary dinner

We celebrated ours at The Lodge Restaurant in San Antonio on Monday evening. D had a glass of an unknown Pinot Noir (reported to be Italian) with salmon, I had a glass of St Francis cab with BEEF tenderloin, unknown vintage. Good pairings, and since we had a good 25 miles to drive home, a single glass each was adequate. Fixed price menu, with choice of four appetizers, four salads, four entrees, four desserts, and four wines by the glass. $40 per, with a $10 premium for the BEEF. Very nice (burp). The St Francis seems to run about $16 locally, and it's not bad at all as a house wine; at least it tastes like a cab, and the pours were generous.

How'd we make it to the 30th? Have no idea. Seems like last month we were working out the arrangements for a simple ceremony to be held at Kensington Town Hall, London, with a Royal Navy couple as witnesses. What a wonderful trip this has been.
