Okay....I'll jump in....seeing that I'm an engineer and all....nothing personal folks...but personal to me and my future family lines.

There is but one completely unbiased and undebateable fact. Our actions are impacting the planet. Specifically in this case, our fossil fuel economy has resulted in significant Carbon and Methane gas releases into the atmosphere which has impacted the global climate. This statement is undebateable. What people debate is the significance and the level of impact.

This is not a political statement. No need to preface this arguement as a red versus blue, liberal versus conservative. While the earth may have been hotter and colder in the past, they were not the result of our intervention. BTW, I'm a fiscal conservative and even this makes sense to me (sooner or later someone pays, in this case, it is forwarded with interest to future generations).

Yes there may be some cyclicalness in the weather. But they were naturally occurring. Put on top of a sin/cos (representation of cyclical) wave some additional stress on the system and the system is no longer balanced. It falls completely outside of the system and spirals away uncontrollably. What next?

Why must we argue how badly we are allowed to hurting the planet and our future generations lifestyle. We know we are. I mean, would you cut yourself in the arm with a small razor just because it does not kill you? Would you argue that since you did not cut your main arteries and die then you are fine? Would you then continue to cut yourself just because you did not die? Eventually you may still bleed to death. Which cut was it that killed you? Was it the last cut? Who knows but the cumulative certainly did not help...or was that the actual cause?

This is not to say that we cannot use fuel, but there are smart ways to using resources and there are dumb ways to use resources, of which our climate is one of.

Hope that I did not offend anyone with my understanding......cold Engineering Logic.
