Hill Country wineries are still struggling with distribution problems. For example, we had planned to visit the Fall Creek outlet that had been quite visible at the mall when we were last there, but it was nowhere to be seen this trip. It may have only been relocated, rather than withdrawn, but we sure couldn't find it in the short time we were there. Their Sauvignon Blanc happens to be one of the few Texas wines that we've found we enjoy, so we had planned to buy a case yesterday. So much for that idea. And just try to find Messina Hof Zin in the San Antonio area! The winery is only 175 miles away, but might as well be on the dark side of the moon. The wine-buying public and small producers continue to be victimized by the wholesalers' cartel.
