I was not sure where to post this so here goes.

I asked for red wine on a domestic Continental Airlines flight. Their standard is Flying Fish merlot, 187ml, $5 - no other option. I forget the vintage but it is not so important.

What a terrible, terrible wine. I was in coach and this was their only choice, so very much a captive market. I had a sip and threw the rest out. Why do they do that? For $5 for 187ml, surely there is better wine out there? As a matter of fact, there is better wine at $5 for 750ml. Continental would probably sell more of it if it was drinkable.
