Was down in Alexandria, Va today. Had lunch with my mother-in-law and my wife. She's (mother-in-law) truly a wonderful person.....I'm lucky that way. On the way out of town we stopped by an outlet store. The store was trying to make room for another shipment and was just getting rid of stuff at under cost prices (or so I think). We bought a new table for $199. When looking this table up later, we saw the retail price was $999 new.

Anyway, I suggested to my wife we should stop by a wine shop not too far away. The owner was one of the guys from the '94 Cali Cab tasting I worked right before Christmas. His store was great. Everything was a couple of points lower than the price in most stores in the area. He then took me to a back room which was his personal cellar. Amazing!!!!! Madeira from the early 1800s; First growth Bordeauxs, Burgundies, and others from the early 1900s. Cali stuff never released. Just mind-boggling wines!!!! I couldn't help but think WWs wine cellar had transplanted itself right there. I was salivating by the time I made my exit. The owner of the cellar couldn't be a more genuine great guy. Just a friendly lover of wine.

Then came home to a couple of friends visiting for a tasting here. What a great day!!!!!!!!!!..........
