Hi - I did indeed have a great bottle of red wine, Spanish, a roja "Alenande" (sp?) 2000. It went very well with the meal. For a special treat, I tried a Canadian "ice wine" (eiswein) from the Niagra area-fantastic; sweet, memorable but with a very clean finish. From now on, I'll stick with red and hearty meats, though I still enjoy the riesling with pork, fowl, etc. Thanks for suggestions.
