Our prices (as of yesterday, haven't checked today) range from about $2.54 per gallon for regular up to $2.64 or so with a high state tax on gas. The legislators talk of capping the gas tax but I don't think they have done so and now they may increase it again to pay for construction of toll roads so they can soak the motorists again.

Apropos of WP's and WW's posts, a good book to make you appreciate what you have is "The Middle of Everywhere" by Mary Pipher (she used to live across the street and a few doors down from my mother.) She talks about actual refugees (different category than immigrants--these are people admitted to the USA because of persecution in their own countries) who have been relocated to Lincoln, NE, my hometown. The stories of the Iraqi women, the "Lost Boys of Sudan," etc. will curl your toes. And now we have a new generation of lost boys of Sudan with the Darfur situation. We need to put some humanity in being human.
